Avery Collins is the Founder & Literary Visibility Strategist at Avery & Co., a literary visibility consultancy she started in 2012 out of a simple, stubborn belief: that wonderful books deserve to be found. From her home in Vancouver, British Columbia, she has spent more than a decade quietly building a practice devoted to helping authors increase their visibility, cultivate authentic reader engagement, and create long-term success for their books.
Avery is a Christian, and her faith in God shapes the way she serves authors and runs her business. It is the reason honesty comes before optimism in every conversation, the reason readers are treated as people rather than targets, and the reason each author's story is met with genuine care. She earned her Bible College Certificate and continued her studies at Tyndale University, an education that shaped both her convictions and her understanding of what it means to steward another person's work with integrity.
Before founding Avery & Co., Avery spent years close to the heartbreak of watching brilliant books go quiet, not because they lacked merit, but because no one had built a thoughtful bridge between the book and its readers. Publishers moved on quickly. Marketing agencies sold noise. Authors were left to become promoters of the very work they'd rather be writing more of. In 2012, she set out to build the alternative.
Today, more than a decade later, Avery still works personally with every client alongside a small team she chose for their care as much as their skill. What began as a Vancouver practice now serves authors from two offices, Vancouver, Canada and Lagos, Nigeria, the latter established in 2017 to better support writers across Africa while continuing to serve clients internationally. Her passion has never wavered: helping great books reach the readers they deserve, one author at a time, one honest conversation at a time. It is quiet work. It is patient work. And in her view, it is a calling.
Professional Philosophy
We believe visibility work should feel like an extension of the book itself: considered, honest, and made with care. We don't chase algorithms, manufacture hype, or promise overnight results. We do the quiet, compounding work, clear positioning, genuine reader relationships, patient outreach, that gives good books long lives.
